Research indicates that castor oil may enhance hair luster, giving hair a shinier and healthier appearance. However, current clinical evidence does not strongly support its effectiveness in stimulating hair growth or treating scalp infestations. Compared to coconut oil, which shows benefits for brittle hair and infestation management, castor oil’s effects remain limited and less substantiated. While widely used due to cultural practices and anecdotal claims, dermatological literature suggests its role is primarily cosmetic, with little proven therapeutic value for hair or scalp health.
